San Carlos Apache girl poses for photos in her coming of age ceremonial dress. I was visiting the reservation to capture the stunning display of spring poppies when I was graced with the presence of this girl and her father who was taking photos of her as well.

After exhausting unlimited options for wildflower compositions I layed down on the ground for a rest. After a moment of silence I turned my head to see this one poppy against the blue sky horizon. Afraid to move my position and lose the view I stretched for my camera bag pulled out the 2.8 lens to focus mainly on the one poppy. It has since been my favorite.
