Mother Hummingbird and Chicks 2010 AZ

Order Canvas Print

Grace allowed me to capture this humminbird mother returning to the nest to feed her chicks at 15  minutes intervals.  Thanks to Paul, guru of current happenings at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, I was directed to an otherwise obscure nesting spot.

Appreciating the pattern of light and leaves behind the penstemon flower I was setting up to shoot and this hummingbird flew into the scene. Actually took this photo without knowing he was in the photo until reviewing later.
